Cantor Michelle Teplitz
Cantor Michelle Teplitz is thrilled to join The Jewish Center of Princeton this year. A graduate of the Hartt School of Music and Gratz College, Cantor Teplitz has an extensive background in vocal performance, music education, Judaic studies and cantorial liturgy. Cantor Teplitz has been blessed to be part of many amazing Jewish communities with a variety of congregational styles. While she thoroughly enjoys her time on the bimah, her real passion is working with children. A music teacher at heart, Cantor Teplitz looks forward to working with this year’s B’nai Mitzvah class and helping each student make the most of their special day.
A native of Woodbridge, Connecticut, Michelle spent her childhood filling in for her Cantor and developing a passion for Jewish music. No matter where she chants, or what service it is, Cantor Teplitz strives to bring her love for the melodies and tunes of our tradition to the Congregation and in so doing help each member develop a deeper relationship with their Synagogue.
When Cantor Teplitz is not at the Synagogue, she can usually be found somewhere performing her favorite role—mom to her two beautiful children, Amalya and Elijah, and wife to her husband of 10 years, Ari, a native of Old Bridge, New Jersey. Together with their family, Michelle and Ari live in Manalapan with their children, their dog, Olivia, and two fish, Cupcake and Cherry.
