This week I had the opportunity to speak to a class of students studying Biblical Hebrew at the Princeton Theological Seminary.  They wanted me to share how we use Hebrew in our worship services.

I love Midrash - the Rabbinic interpretations and commentaries that add so much to our Biblical stories. The word Midrash comes from the word Lidrosh that means to dig.

The child of a certain rabbi used to wander in the woods.  At first the child's father let him wander, but over time the Rabbi became concerned as he did not know what lurked in the woods.

Our dear friend, Cantor Murray Simon used to have certain phrases that he loved and recently I thought of 2 of them that involve upcoming dates.
