There are many many wonderful holidays and traditions on the Jewish Calendar, some joyuous, some somber. Here at The Jewish Center, whether we are dancing with the Torah scrolls on Simchat Torah, lighting the Chanukah menorah with 800 of our closest friends, welcoming the Sabbath bride with song each week or standing silently in self-reflection on Yom Kippur, we strive to enrich our lives with all the beauty that Judaism has to offer.
Upcoming holiday celebrations are typically announced in our monthly newsletter, our weekly e-mail or on our Facebook page. You can also consult the calendar or our events listing for more information. Our services and celebrations are open to the community.
Below are a series of brief documents which describe the background to the major Jewish holidays along with practices which are specific to The Jewish Center.
