Art, music, literature, crafts, and performing arts all contribute to our rich Jewish culture. The Arts and Cultural Affairs committee coordinates programs or works with other committees to showcase the range and variety of Jewish cultural activities.
We proudly present concerts or theatrical events, including occasional theatrical parodies. The synagogue foyer and the adult library host various art exhibits; recent examples include art from Israel, an exhibit of photographs of earlier generations of congregant families, tallitot made by Jewish Center Women or by Religious School students, Jewish calligraphy and paper art, lithographs, etc. From time to time, classes are offered in Judaic arts, such as making ceramic menorahs or tallitot or using art as midrash. The permanent art collection of The Jewish Center is also quite impressive and adds to the aesthetic appeal of our building.
