TJC Interfaith Refugee Resettlement Committee

The TJC Interfaith Refugee Resettlement Committee was founded in 2015 through the efforts of TJC members Melissa Hager and Louise Sandburg together with members of the Quaker Meeting and Princeton United Methodist Church.  Initially founded in response to the surge of Syrian refugees, the Committee is now focused on supporting and welcoming the surge of Afghan refugees working with Interfaith-RISE, a U.S. State Department designated official resettlement agency.

TJC members provide support for our refugee families in many ways including providing rides, finding housing, teaching English and Computer literacy, helping to furnish their homes, and helping them find jobs, and through financial donations as well.   Specific donations of old laptops, unlocked cell phones, and cars are always welcome –think of donating them to a refugee family when you upgrade!  And we can always use more volunteers to help!
